On and on and on

On and on and on

Se Frida não fosse talentosa e bela
e não tivesse esse brilho próprio da estrela;

se ela não cantasse tão belo qual o *Uirapuru do meu país
e seu sorriso não deixasse a gente tão feliz;

se Frida não tivesse esse porte de Princesa
e não andasse nos passos da realeza;

se Frida não fosse essa mulher valente e forte
que num poema eu chamei Farol do Norte;

bastaria à Frida caminhar pela existência a sorrir,
desfilando sua inefável glória de existir!

TRANSLATION

On and on and on

If Frida was not talented and bela
and did not had been the own brightness of star;

if she did not sing so beautiful like *Uirapuru of my country
and his smile would not leave us so happy;

If Frida did not had style of Princess
and should not walk in the footsteps of royalty;

if were not that strong and brave woman
that in a poem I called the Northern Lighthouse;

Frida could enough to go on and to go on smiling,
and just to parade his ineffable glory to exist!

* Uirapuru-true (Cyphorhinus Aradus) is a songbird known for a particularly elaborate singing, which is  also commonly known as a musician or trumpeter of the forest.
    In the folklore of northern Brazil, Uirapuru is known to have one of the most beautiful singing among birds, causing all other birds let them be silent to hear him. Also because the sound reminds one flute or clarinet.
    The sound of Uirapuru can be short and strong, when it wishes to demonstrate mastery of the territory, or long and melodious when the intention is sexual attraction. Lasts 10 to 15 minutes at dawn and in the evening, at the time of nest building, and sings only about fifteen days a year.
